This family-friendly, fully-fenced beach house is situated in the serene coastal town of Aramoana, a mere 10-minute drive from the charming seaside town of Port Chalmers and a 30-minute drive from Dunedin, following the scenic harbour coastline. Aramoana boasts a diverse array of wildlife, including yellow-eyed penguins and New Zealand sea lions, which you might spot on the local beaches or at the mole. Spend your days leisurely walking along the beaches, engaging with the friendly locals, swimming, surfing, or simply unwinding on the sunny deck. Additional activities include fishing, harbour cruises, wildlife tours, visiting the Orokonui eco sanctuary, or cycling around the Otago Harbour loop. Numerous walking tracks are available (refer to the "Wandering the West Harbour" map under the Walk tab on the Port Chalmers website). The website, www.portchalmers.com, is a treasure trove of information on shopping, dining, drinks, and activities. A trip to the historic Careys Bay Hotel for exquisite local seafood comes highly recommended. Please be aware that Aramoana lacks shopping facilities, so it's advisable to shop in Port Chalmers or Dunedin prior to arrival. Cell phone coverage is patchy in some areas of Aramoana, but consistent service is usually found at the settlement entrance and 'the mole'. Wi-Fi is available for a stable connection.
